Research
The Hybrid Nanomaterials Group research interests are:
Magnetism and Magnetic Biodevices
Verónica Salgueiriño
Wet-chemistry synthesis of magnetic nanomaterials. Analysis of their magnetic behavior. Fabrication of structurally and chemically complex nanoscale and microscale systems that integrate magnetic transition metal oxides nanocrystals and biological components (lipids, proteins, DNA or viruses), to produce Magnetic Biodevices.
Self-assembled Molecules & Materials
Laura M. Salonen
Design and synthesis of self-assembled molecules and materials, such as covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and composites thereof. Exploration of their properties and application in the fields of environment and energy.
Nanomedicine
Lorena García Hevia
Application of nanotechnology in the biomedical field. Smart hybrid nanomaterials as targeted therapeutic tools for various diseases. Development of diverse in vitro systems, 3D spheroids, and murine models of cancer and metastasis to assess the efficacy and performance of these systems.
