Hybrid Nanomaterials Group

Welcome to the website of the Hybrid Nanomaterials Research Group at the Center for Research in Nanomaterials and Biomedicine (CINBIO). The research is threefold: the development of strategies based on wet-chemistry methods for the synthesis of the hybrid submicron systems, the detailed analysis of their physical properties and the synergies established, and the study of their applications in health, environment, and catalysis.

Research

Hybrid Nanomaterials Fabrication

Fabrication of structurally and chemically complex nanoscale and microscale hybrid structures, based on magnetic transition metal oxides, covalent organic frameworks, plasmonic metals, and/or biological components (lipids, proteins, nucleic acids, viruses,…).

Physical Properties

Detailed analysis and optimization of the physical properties of the nanocrystals and other subunits included in the hybrid nanomaterials.

Applications

Magnetic Biodevices working as magnetic nano/microrobots, with catalytic and heat capabilities for self-propelling, magnetically guided, able to probe cells, deliver drugs and genes, to work as theragnostic tools.

Hybrid submicron systems based on COFs working as catalysts and for efficient adsorption in water remediation.

Bio Hybrid submicron systems interfering within cells.
