Design, synthesis and characterization of new nanomaterials
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) disrupt the dynamics of the cell cytoskeleton, leading to the inhibition of cell proliferation and migration, ultimately triggering antitumor activity. Here, we effectively direct biodegradable CNTs to lung metastases by employing a neovasculature-binding peptide, achieving a 90 % reduction in metastases with just three doses of CNT-conjugates. Our study provides evidence that these CNT-conjugates synergistically enhance the efficacy of Taxol® (paclitaxel) in preclinical models of metastatic malignant melanoma.
